TO Recommit

To recommit is to return.

It is to make a permanent decision to entrust your will or a particular thing into someone else’s care. In this case I’m returning myself, my will back to God. And if you need to too, He’s available.

I’m recommitting to soul work,

I’m recommitting to early mornings will I rise and seek thee,

I’m recommitting to not my will, but thy will be done,

I’m recommitting to heart checks and honest conversations,

I’m recommitting to vulnerability and broken prayers,

I’m recommitting to less busy work, more time for Him,

I’m recommitting to being still and trusting Him.

I’m recommitting to service, to honor.

I’m recommitting to faithfulness and great stewardship.

I’m recommitting to date mornings and nights,

I’m recommitting to loving how He wired me,

I’m recommitting to producing good fruit,

I’m recommitting to protecting what He has given me,

I’m recommitting to protecting even my peace,

I’m recommitting to prayer and fasting,

I’m recommitting to the word.

I’m recommitting to consistency,

I’m recommitting to be where He needs me to be.

I’m recommitting to love.

I’m recommitting in every area so that He is pleased with me.

What I love about God’s unconditional love is that when I pray to recommit He accepts me. Of course, there comes repentance and reconstruction and correction, but I can trust that I have a secured spot in His heart, and for that I thank Him for His mercies. Sometime we get too comfortable with doing the bare minimum and it slowly pulls us away from the vigor we had to serve Him (not gifts, talents, accomplishments, blessings) but Him.

So like David asked God in prayer, I follow.

Dear God,

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit”

Psalm 51:10-12 (KJV).

As always,

Be encouraged.
