Dear God

God,

I love the woman I’m becoming.

I love that I’m finally embracing

The way you designed me.

I love that I’m fully known

And loved by you.

I love that fact that your unconditional love,

Paved the way for me to love me too.

Many times I stared in the mirror

Before we met

And was filled with sadness, self-hatred, and regret.

But in these five years

You have renewed my mindset and

Made me whole.  

It’s not so much the beauty of the exterior,

But the internal work you have done in me.

The transformation in my attitude, my character

And the voids you filled in my heart.

Now, I stare back at the mirror

With a confident smile

Because I found my worth in you.
